CT SCAN CENTRE

The computed Tomographic scan is the finest diagnostic tool providing high resolution cross- sectional pictures or “Tomographic slides” of the human body. It has proved to be particularly beneficial in the study of various body parts like brain, chest which are not clearly bought out in the X ray study.

It offers some advantages over other X ray techniques in diagnosing diseases, particularly because it shows the shape and exact location of organs, soft tissues and bones. It is found to be very effective in detecting problems such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.

MRI CENTRE

An MRI system model Centauri 3000 (0.3 Tesla) has been installed and is functional.

It is primarily a medical imaging technique most commonly used in radiology to visualize detailed internal structure and limited function of the body.

MRI provides much greater contrast between the different soft tissues of the body than computed tomography (CT) does, making it especially useful in neurological (brain), musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and ontological (cancer) imaging.

This signal can be manipulated by additional magnetic fields to build up enough information to construct an image of the body.

MAMMOGRAPHY

It is an imagining technique where by exposure of low radiation dose of X rays on the breast is done. It is used for early detection of breast cancer and also its nature (benign or malignant). It is also used for diagnosis of breast lump and swelling.
